Technical
Support
(New) customer services from KRÜSS Messtechnik
When
acquiring analytical instruments for the laboratory great care is taken
to check that the techniques and methods actually do what they promise
to do and how effectively a method can be used. How good the supplier’s
technical support is and what is being offered are rarely checked before
the investment has been made.
But this is exactly the point that is of crucial importance for the further
life of the instrument – this is the opinion of Dipl.Ing. Dominik
Hennemann who has been responsible for the technical support provided
by KRÜSS GmbH since 1995: "During the working life of the instrument
tasks continually arise that were not foreseen when the investment was
made. Or circumstances change and necessitate further measures.
This means that it is vitally important to have a contact person who can
satisfy all your requirements both from the technical side as well as
supplying support for your applications.
So, before making any investments check the technical support that KRÜSS
can offer you!
Apart from our top-quality
phone-in support KRÜSS has successfully offered the following services
for many years now:
· Support for IQ / OQ by service technicians on
your premises

· Repair service (on site or in our Hamburg factory)
From this year on we can also offer warranty extensions.
These are so to speak insurance policies that cover all repairs which
may become necessary during the validity of the contract.

Traceability
of surface measurements to national standard platinum rings and plates with
a DKD certificate
The measurement of the surface
tension by using the ring and plate method can be traced back to a national
standard without any difficulty.
An important step is to check the force measuring system used with standards
that can be traced back to national standards. This is generally carried
out with weights certified by the DKD.
However, it is often forgotten that not only the force represents an important
parameter for calculating the surface tension but also the shape of the
plate or ring is equally important.
The "Wilhelmy
equation" demonstrates this:
The force F which
acts on the ring or plate is just as important as the wetted length l.
This fact has been
taken into consideration by KRÜSS with the result that both rings
and plates can now be ordered with a DKD certificate which
· documents
that the ring or plate has the correct dimensions
· and uses these to determine the true wetted
length.
The firmware and software of the K11 and K100 instruments allows the input
of the shape or wetted length. This closes the gap which would otherwise
exist for a proper shape certificate for the ring or plate.

questions please contact Mr. Hennemann directly.
